(ENG) Gifts of the Elder Ocean
A downloadable ttrpg supplement
"After each night of full rest, you wake up with a pearl in your mouth."
"A small mouth appears on your forehead. It whispers helpful secrets to you while you rest."
"You grow a tail with a venomous stinger, like a stingray."
Submit to the Elder Ocean!
Gifts of the Elder Ocean is a supplement for Old-School Essentials, and other retro TTRPG, that will mutate your campaign into a gonzo world full of amphibious monsters.
- An uncaring eldritch god, the Elder Ocean, that can be inserted into any setting, and a generator for random oceanic cults. Will your party fight against these petty temples and their plots, or will they help them acomplish their sinister objectives?
- Two new classes, the Fish-folk, a mutant adventurer who specialize in underwater fighting, and the Frogling, a weak humanoid that can be useful as a scout (should any player wish to be one).
- 99 unique mutations, ranging from all-powerful blessings to curses, that will make your characters life exciting! Most mutations are themed around marine life forms, which give the whole random table a coherent feeling.
- 6 new monsters: tribes of Froglings and Sea Giants, Sirens ruling underwater cults, Mutagenic Eels and their double-edged venom...
- 7 magical items related to water, ocean or mutations, including the Blessed Fishing Rod that allows for miraculous harvests, and the Primordial Life Grenade that warp the flesh of its victims to create new unholy creatures.
This supplement is 20 pages long (including covers), illustrated by the talented Aron Rodriguez. It's entirely free if you want, but any help is appreciated if you like the project, as I worked on it for a long time (and it would allow me to get more art for future projects). I would be very happy to read your feedback, especially if you used it in your games!
"You now have strong, frog-like legs."
"Once per day, you can exhale a cloud of steam that completely obscures the room you’re in."
"Your skin and muscles become translucent, showing your skeleton and your internal organs."

Wow really cool supplement! Very complete :
- Some lore geared towards table usability (love the procedure for generating a pelagic acolytes lair/temple);
- Two new classes that seem perfectly balanced (replacement dwarf and replacement thief);
- A d100 mutation table, 6 new monsters, 7 new items.
Haven't checked all the mutations, monsters and items for now. Dowloaded it for free at first to check it out, but now sending you the suggested price, if not only to encourage you, also because you included wonderful art which must not have been free :) .
I already had a project for an aquatic dungeon (for after 2025, probably, though) and maybe also will play Isle of the Plangent Mage in my campaign as a side quest for retainers, so I'll keep in touch if I use it and have feedbacks or if in 2026 I see a potential for a partnership.
Cheers :) !
Thanks very much! Yes, the artist gave me a very good bulk price, but it was all paid work.
I would be curious to hear about your aquatic campaign, also if you publish your dungeon I would love to slot it into my own current nautical campaign. As for 2026, I don't know at all what I would be working on at that time but a nautical collab would be cool (one of my players suggested a random table for fishing mutated fishes, and I though about an elf-like race of psionic crustacean, so there's room for a volume 2) :)
And thanks for the buy, I didn't see! All the money I make with the project serves to commission artists for the next one, it will help a lot :D
